Advantages of using apps to learn Spanish

As we mentioned in our previous article, the use of mobile apps to learn languages is more and more frequent given that they offer several advantages. Specifically, at Glorick, we would like to mention in this article the benefits and the process of learning Spanish via mobile apps.

Learn at your own pace

One of the most important advantages of learning Spanish via mobile apps is that they allow you to learn at your own pace. Therefore you can study the course and acquire the knowledge that you choose based on your needs.

You can learn where and when you like

The possibility of learning where and when you like is another one of the most important benefits, so if you’re a busy person then you’ll be able to take the full lessons whenever works best for you without having to follow a set timetable and from your mobile phone from anywhere in the world.

Unlimited access to multimedia content

Finally, we would like to highlight the apps that offer the possibility of accessing content whenever you like. This unlimited access to multimedia content allows you to not only learn at your own pace and wherever you want, but it also allows you to review the content that is most difficult for you.

What are the advantages of apps for learning languages?

Despite mobile apps offering a wide range of advantages for learning a language, we think it’s important to also point out some of the possible disadvantages.

They can’t replace true practice

The first disadvantage that we would like to mention is that learning a language via an app can’t replace real practice of studying a language given that in order to acquire full knowledge of a language, you must practise in different situations.

Focus on specific areas

Following on from our previous statement, it’s important to mention that currently, many of the mobile apps for learning languages are focused on specific learning-areas. This means that many apps ignore aspects such as pronunciation or grammar and focus more on learning vocabulary.

How does the language-learning process work?

Although it’s hard to perceive and regardless of what languages you know, the language-learning process is made up of various stages that everybody must go through during the process.

This process always starts with the learner’s enthusiasm and willingness to learn something new. It doesn’t matter what reason has led you to start learning. This first stage finishes when the obsession for learning a new language and immersing yourself in the culture begins.

Once the first two stages are overcome you’ll move on to what is commonly known as the shyness and frustration stage. During this stage, you’ll start to put into practice what you’ve learned and you’ll notice a strange feeling, given that results are not always as expected.

Finally, once the frustration stage is overcome, the revelation and emotion stage begins. In this stage, you’ll get back the emotion you started with and the motivation for learning a language.

Is digital interactive-learning here to stay?

Digital transformation and technological advances have brought about a change for many sectors including the education sector.

As we’ve been able to observe in this article, mobile devices offer a wide range of advantages to millions of users who, without doubt, favour learning a language via the internet.

At Glorick, we offer multiple online training and courses for companies with the aim of being able to learn, for example, a new language via a digital platform that’s designed to guarantee the best learning experience.
