Remote work has become the new normal

At the beginning of 2020, the world needed to stop and from then on we all began to experience situations that were unimaginable for a developed population until then. Initially, what people and companies thought would be a few weeks turned into months and more than a year. Have you ever stopped to analyze how the pandemic has changed your lifestyle? How has your way of consuming and relating to people changed?

All companies had to adapt abruptly at that moment. Organizations could not stop and had to reconstitute almost entirely their mode of operation, either due to the need to comply with the new safety rules or to be able to meet the new demands that the market needed.

In this period, the habits and needs of consumers have changed, the demand for certain types of services and products has increased. For example, home delivery of products became a mandatory service for any establishment that was operating. What was once a trend that hadn't gotten everywhere, became an immediate necessity at that moment.

This accelerated changes that could take years to implement. For this reason, technology has entered an overwhelming race to meet the sudden demand, thus generating innovations in all areas and sectors. Technology was essential to the pandemic, and the pandemic has sharply accelerated the pace of technological advancement.

82% of workers admit they prefer to work from home

I'm sure that you, who are reading this article, remember very well how the company where you work communicated to employees that the working day would be long-distance from that moment on. People didn't have time to adapt to the home office. Anyone who had never worked this way needed to reinvent themselves in a hurry, with the resources they had available at that time. However, two years after remote work has become the new normal for workers, studies show that people don't want to go back to face-to-face work. A survey reveals that 82% of workers prefer to work from home rather than in an office.

We, at Glorick, defend remote work, which is our way of working even before the pandemic. We recognize that working from home, for example, provides a better work-life balance and increases productivity. For these same reasons, 61% of people who work from home today say they are not going back to the office because they don't want to.

People are increasingly concerned about the quality of life and not just about positions and titles. Emotional pay has never been more valued than it is now. This new scenario has been a challenge for some companies, mainly for the human resources sector.

How is this post-pandemic scenario going in your company? Have work routines been implemented that were not so usual before? I would love to start this dialogue here with you.
